Wat Phichaiyat

Wat Phichaiyat (Phitchaya Yatikaram Worawiharn, circa 1890) is located not far from Pichai Memorial Bridge on the Thonburi side of the Chao Phraya River, Banngkok, Thailand.

The original temple was abandoned until 1841, when Chao Phraya Phichaiyat (That Bunnag) commissioned the construction of Wat Phichaiyat, presented it to King Rama III (Phra Nang Klao) as a royal temple. The temple was given the name of Wat Phraya Yatikaram; however, people generally call it Wat Phichaiyat.

The temple is built in the Chinese style and this can be seen in not only the architecture but in the engravings depicting scenes from the Chinese epic "Sam Kok".
